About Me

My name is Marquise Twitty aka Marcus Cross or Zwei as I'm known on social media and Twitch. I'm a freelance Graphic Designer, Narratologist, and Public Relations Practitioner. I focus most of my energy in digital media, social media, and everything involving gaming and geekery.

I took my first big leap into the working world as a Desk Receptionist in England House under Housing and Residence. The position required me to be organized, work well with a team, have excellent customer service, and work on a tight schedule. I would work both late evening and early morning hours to make sure that the work for that day would get done on time even if we were understaffed for the day.

After that, I worked for Old Dominion University’s college radio station (WODU Studios) as their Rock/Daytime Director. I’ve managed the organizing and uploading of digital media for WODU studios which allowed me to be in charge of a team of radio personalities and Dj’s. I would constantly send out email updates, newsletters, and minutes for meetings while keeping up our Twitter, Facebook, website, and YouTube analytics.

Later I became the Music Programming Director using different skills in social media, public relations, graphic design, document design, and video production to help make the radio station function as a digital entity. I not only managed our music catalog, but also stayed on top of show hosts with their content, worked with video and audio editing equipment, create content for social media, and help create content for our diverse audience ranging from students, staff, alumni, and outside viewers.

During my time as the Daytime Director transitioning to Music Programming Director, I was an undergraduate researcher for the English Department under Dr. Shelley Rodrigo. The nature of our research involved how narrative motivates individuals to complete a task. This also involved understanding gamification of education and how it can be applied to first-year students using Alternate Reality Game elements. The position required me to not only be an effective writer, but also creative in narratology, visual design, and also audio design using the audio editing program audacity.
